Still no DSL

Saturday has come and gone and still no DSL in sight. I filed an online complaint yesterday, but I didn’t get a response. I called the PLDT customer hotline earlier today to find out just what has happened.
According to the CSR I talked to there wasn’t even any notation on my account as to why the contractor wasn’t able to connect my DSL at the appointed date, which was last Saturday. She flagged the concern and told me to contact them again within 24 to 48 hours if the matter hasn’t been resolved.
I have to admit that I am getting a bit peeved at the delay, but I need to cultivate patience.

I need only three more Pokémon to complete the first 150 entries in the Sinnoh Dex. I am not counting Manaphy, which is #151 in the Sinnoh Dex.
I managed to finish my first traversal of Victory Road, but I’m holding off challenging the Elite Four since I am still breeding and re-training some of my Pokémon. I also have this urge to try and capture one of the rarest non-Legendary Pokémon, Feebas, though I have to admit that finding one of the 4 tiles out of over 400 tiles is a legendary task in and of itself.

Tomorrow the PLDT people are supposed to come over to install my DSL. After a long hiatus my self-imposed Internet exile will finally be over.
Soon I shall be playing MMOGs again and I can finally run that online L5R game that was requested of me about a month ago.
To paraphrase the Human Torch; GAME ON!
Gotta Catch ‘em All!

The first time I played Pokémon was when I bought my Game Boy Color and a Pokémon Yellow cartridge. Now I am in my fourth week of Playing Pokémon Pearl on my Nintendo DS Lite. It’s easy for me to keep track on how long I’ve been playing because there is this one Pokémon, Drifloon, who appears only during Fridays at the Valley Windworks area.
The Pokémon game franchise has lasted quite a long time with the first games released back in 1996. It really hasn’t lost its appeal unlike the predictions of being a fad at the time. I know I’m still hooked.
As a side note, the “Gotta Catch ‘em All!” tagline was quietly retired in 2003.

It has been a long, long while since I have posted in any of my blogs. Not for lack of anything to write, there have been plenty of those, but because of a very important element: Internet access. Well now I have Internet access via dial-up from my new digs and soon I shall have DSL access as well.
I had a harrowing experience the past three days; I thought my computer had died on me. I brought it to my office to have the in-house tech check if my suspicions that the power supply unit went kaput, only he has been absent since Monday. So this morning I took matters into my own hands; I borrowed a brand-new power supply unit from our supply officer so that I can check for myself if the problem was with the power supply unit.
As it turns out it wasn’t.
When I attached the power supply unit it still wouldn’t turn on, so I decided to do it the old-fashioned geek way; I disassembled my entire rig and put it back together again making sure that everything was good and tight.
Lo and behold! My rig came back to life!
So I connected my rig to the office network and updated my software. Then I downloaded AlienGUIse and now this is how my Desktop and Firefox look like:
